Sewing Training

At the Jyoti School we aim to prepare all our students to play an active role in the community. The disabled need to be made self reliant and trained in skills which help them become better citizens in society. The school boasts of a fully developed vocational training centre that provides training in computers, screen printing, tailoring/sewing, leather crafting, electrical gadget repairing, fabricating electrical gadgets (ceiling fans etc.), and carpentry, among others.

Leather craft and Training: A professional leather specialist trains the students on all aspects of the industry such as leather qualities, designing and leather craft including wallets, handbags and shoe crafting. Some of the trainees have already been placed with shoe manufacturing units at Kanpur.

Training in tailoring and embroidery: Individuals are trained to learn tailoring, sewing and embroidery work. A trained teacher helps students learn tailoring and sewing. Students learn to stitch garments and linen, embroider and even design outfits. Products made by students are regularly displayed and sold at art & craft exhibitions organized locally.

Computer Education and Training: Our fully equipped computer laboratory currently covers all basic skills in computers. Students are given training in MS Office, basic internet usage and e-mailing, Photoshop, Corel Draw 11 & 13 version, Paint & Tally.

Electrician training program:All kinds of electrical repairs including motor winding are taught here. Students are also given training in electrical gadgets repairing and fabricating electrical gadgets (ceiling fans etc.). For this course we have tied up with The Ambedkar Institute for the Handicapped, Kanpur.

Screen printing training: One of the most popular skills taught at the school, screen printing has opened various doors to the students. Some of our alumni are are successfully employed with renowned printing presses in Kanpur, while others have found self-employment opportunities in the field.
